What Kids Need

Hi Everyone,
I'm currently running a special just for kids- free consultation and exam- through the middle of June.
Please encourage your family members and friends to take advantage of this opportunity to have their children checked for spinal subluxations.

As most of you know I have worked with a large number of children through my 18 years in practice. Most of the kids I see have a health challenge that has not been successfully addressed by the medical approach. Many of them are on drugs, given by MD's, which are making them sicker, or are not working at all.

I'm not sure why parents think of chiropractic ( the largest drugless healing profession in the world) as a last resort, but many parents do. If chiropractic was the first thing they tried, their children would not be taking those awful drugs!

All the parent has to do is call and make an appointment for their child before June 15th. 315-635-2739

Now- here's an example of kids and chiropractic.

I saw a 8 year old boy who was taking medications for asthma, and used an inhaler daily. His parents were concerned about the effect of all the meds.
I did chiropractic adjustments to his spine to increase the flow of nerve energy to his lungs, and to increase his immune system function. I also had this child do a easy 10 week detox, as often allergies and asthma are caused by a toxic reaction to drugs the child was given as an infant. In this case the child had been given steroids as an infant because he had thrush at birth.

In three months time this child had stopped using his inhaler and was off the meds. He was able to play baseball, something he had always wanted to do. His asthma never returned. That was 15 years ago. He went on to be a athlete, and a minor star in extreme skateboarding.

This child was my guest on a health talk TV show that I did in Albuquerque, and he told the audience that it was easy, painless and fun to work with a Chiropractor.

This is just one example, there are many more.

The nervous system controls and coordinates all the functions of the body. If the spine is out of alignment, the nerve energy can not flow freely, and your body will not function to it's true potential.
All parents want their children to reach their true potential. Chiropractic care can help.

Please pass this on to anyone you know who has kids!

Research Shows Chiropractic Can Help Infants with Colic and Reflux

Recent research reporting on infants with colic and acid reflux reveals that chiropractic may play an important role in helping resolve these conditions.

Atlanta, GA, May 22, 2009
The research on 16 infants, reported in the Journal of Pediatric, Maternal & Family Health – Chiropractic, revealed that ten of the infants experienced a difficult birth that may have resulted in spinal injuries predisposing the children to these problems.

“Research is revealing that injuries to the upper part of the neck may be a factor in a number of disorders. These injuries lead to misalignments in the neck that may compress the spinal cord and other nerve structures in the neck. This compression leads to nerve interference and can result in a host of disorders such as colic and acid reflux” stated Dr. Erin Elster the author of the study.

Dr. Elster previously studied the relationship between upper neck injuries and such disorders as Parkinsons, multiple sclerosis, asthma, headaches and Tourette’s in clinical studies. Reviews of the scientific research reveal numerous other studies that have shown a similar connection.

“It makes a lot of sense when you think about it” stated Dr.=2 0Matthew McCoy a chiropractor, public health researcher and editor of the journal that published the study, “If you damage or compress the neurological structures in the neck this can have far reaching implications on the functioning of the body. Through research like Dr. Elster’s we are finding that correcting the misalignments associated with these injuries reduces the nerve compression and people improve. In this study it was infants suffering from colic and acid reflux.”

Ordinarily infants suffering from colic and acid reflux may be given medications that in many cases have not been fully studied in children. Finding the cause of the colic or reflux is a much better strategy. One such cause is thought to be spinal misalignments, termed vertebral subluxations by chiropractors, which result in structural and neurological interference to the spine and nerve system. It is this interference that may cause symptoms such as those seen in this study and chiropractors correct or reduce this interference.

In the study, sixteen infants with colic or acid reflux were evaluated and cared for using protocols developed to correct upper neck subluxations. Histories of birth trauma were reported in 10 cases; upper cervical subluxations were found in all 16 cases; and 100% of the cases responded to chiropractic care with symptoms completely resolved. According to Dr. Elster, these results suggest a link between birth trauma, upper cervical injury, and the onset of colic and acid reflux. Correcting the injury to the upper cervical spine through the use of specific chiropractic adjustments appears to eliminate colic and acid reflux. The author calls for further study in a controlled environment with larger sample sizes.
